BRUNO DE BARRANCA
Bruno was captured November 26, 1997 in the Buck/Bald Herd Management Area
of Nevada. He was adopted by Sue Everett in April of 1998 at Vallejo, Ca.
He was two years old.
Sue watched him for a long time at the adoption
holding pens, impressed by his obvious intelligence and fluid movement. She
had not planned to adopt that day and had to hire a hauler to bring him back
to a trainer's ranch in Templeton, CA., because she didn't have the nerve to
tell her husband that she had gotten another horse! In fact, the transport
cost more than the adoption.
He was named Bruno, because he was dark
brown. However, the next year he shed out to a beautiful bay.
After
finally telling her husband, John, about Bruno, Sue brought her new horse
home to their ranch in Creston, CA. Sue learned that Bruno also has a good
mind and willing attitude that makes him a real pleasure to know.
Bruno, after being halter trained by Cassidy Bates of Paso Robles, was
allowed to enjoy a cushy life in the Pasture at the Everetts' ranch until he
was four, when he was put under saddle by Jolly Holman.
Bruno was next
trained for English riding by Xena Richter of Mystic Fantasy Arabians in
Aguanga, Ca. He enjoyed being shown in English classes and did very well
for himself. However, Sue felt that he hadn't yet found his niche and
decided to try Dressage, since he is such a beautiful mover.
He is
currently being trained and shown by Patty Cochrane of Blue Sky Ranch in
Templeton, CA. He is an apt pupil, and recently was top horse in his first
show. Patty and Sue look forward to more success for this special horse.
They think one reason he does so well is that he will do ANYTHING for a Mrs.
Pastures cookie, which he expects at the end of each workout.
