Gelding an Icelandic Horse

This is a young stud colt, owned by Janice, being gelded at three years old,
who was thought possibly to be a cryptorchid:
He had a complication but
everything went very well! I took pics and will post them below.
He had an "abnormal inguinal ring", which means the opening to his
abdomen was too big! So that when he felt that the second smaller testicle
was indeed squished up underneath the big one in the same "sack" (I
am trying to be scientific and explain but I will surely get some
parts wrong :) the vet said "oh yeah, this is gonna be ok, we can take
care of this just fine". But then when he made the first cut clear
fluid squirted out about a foot! And then he said "uh oh," and then
said his scrotum had been filled with "gut fluid" and that his
intestines could have come and went in and out the opening which was a
potentially life threatening situation cause the whole intestines
could have eventually worked themselves out that hole I guess?
Anyway. Thats why it never seemed to appear. Both of his testicles
were in the same scrotum on top of one another under "pressure". One
was a lot lot smaller. from being squished all the time.
He said this abnormality is seen frequently in mustangs. He had to
pull out the inguinal ring and I am not sure what he did but it looked
like he tied it in a buncha knots and then he did a bunch of stitches
up there that he said will dissolve.
I guess you missed one of my original posts where I told
the vet YOU had told me a horse could look like he is cryptorchid but
actually they are together in the same sack, and he laughed and said
"No... believe me, its not there." So then we started feeling a lump
beneath the other one and I told my vet and he said he would check it
but said "I will believe it when I see it". But there it was,
squished up beneath the big one! In the same sack! He was not
cryptorchid at all!
