In the world of the equine, women are taking center stage,
Especially when it comes to nurturing horses in this modern day and age.
There are veterinarians, trimmers, and clinicians all skilled in their own
right
But there is a lady in California who is a genuine point of light.
Her name is Judy Ryder and her name aptly coincides
With her love and passion for horses which she rescues, trains and rides.
She also takes in troubled kids and brings them out to her ranch.
With love she rehabilitates them and gives these kids a fighting chance.
Judy calls a spade a spade and won't tolerate any abuses,
Whether it involves her foster children or any poorly treated Cayuses.
Of neglected kids and horses, she has rescued her fair share.
And both children and equines are lavished and guided with tender loving
care.
She's also famous for the clicker training she's taught through out the
years.
And she does seminars for her friends to help them overcome their riding
fears.
She uses natural horseman techniques, which she readily endorses
And she usually does it free so it makes things good for the riders and the
horses.
She was once a female square dance caller, which at that time was rare
Her Husband Mike and her entertained at dances and they were quite the pair.
She was pregnant with her daughter then, but that didn't slow her down at
all.
She would cowgirl up and attend the jollifications because she loved to
call.
For the last ten years she's been an advocate for the Icelandic Pony breed,
And if she hears of one being mistreated she'll sure enough intercede.
She also maintains a computer website where she and other horse-loving
cronies
Post information and stories that promote these sturdy Icelandic Ponies.
This lady has a humanitarian heart and that's a star in her crown.
I am sure the recording angels in heaven are writing her good deeds down
Yes, In the horse world there's a few women who swing their loop a little
wider
And I take my hat off to this heroine, California's Judy Ryder.
