A Paint Horse is a certain breed of horse that has "pinto" markings, such as black and white,
red and white, in different patterns, such as tobiano, sabino, overo, splash. These are also
referred to as "spotted".
The Paint Horses are from Quarter Horse or Thoroughbred lines, or crosses thereof.
Pinto horses are any breed of horse with spotted markings.
A spotted Icelandic Horse is not a Paint Horse because it does not come from
Quarter Horse or Thoroughbred lines. It is a "pinto".
