Practice with your Icelandic Horse on the ground, with some of the Parelli Natural
Horsemanship Seven Games
(PNH 7 Games), or Bill Dorrance's ground work exercises
(True Horsemanship Thru Feel exercises) to help learn
how to maneuver the horse's body, how to engage his mind, to be able to put his feet
where you want them.
Here we ask for the horse to put one foot on the mounting block.
Then two feet.
All four feet up. He says "Piece of cake; this is easy!"
In this picture, we've asked him to back up, putting one foot on the ground, but we want him to keep three feet on the platform. It's a little harder for him to figure this one out. He says, "I'm not quite sure what you want, but I'll try."
First time for this gal and her mare.
Will your horse put his feet wherever you ask him to?
