Horses can learn to discriminate between different symbols and different colors.





Here is Skumur--first try on touching blue.
I had forgotten that he'd never been taught
to target, so it was a little more difficult for
him to grasp the idea.


For Vinur, this was old hat. He knows targeting
very well, and also picked out colors last year.


Another thought that I had was that Vinur came here as a two-year-old and Skumur as a 13 year old. So Vinur has had lots of stimulation whereas Skumur has not--indeed had to get used to "liking" people!
